This model was propounded by D. W. Fiske (1949). Later many other psychologists worked on it and explained it more emphatically like Norman (1967), Smith (1967), Goldberg (1981), and McCrae & Costa (1987).

Here all 5 personality traits are representing a range between two extremes, one is high and the other is low. Openness represents as highly open and very traditional.
